Turn Into the Pain
She wants to tell me,
The tight in my throat,
I need to sit with this pain,
It might be the first time she has been heard.
Her cries are silent,
But loud in my chest,
I’m not turning from this agony.
She needs validation for her grief.
The 2 am panic, the alarm she sets for me,
The circling thoughts,
In quiet, I need to whisper her name,
To tell her I’ll help her hold the pain.
