The Silent trauma

As you celebrate my smile

Can you see my tears,

Can you hear my screams,

As resilience cheers?

Oh, heart yearning for peace, out of reach,

Unanswered words, mouth with no speech,

Oh body, holding the echoes of silent prayers

Shame that you carry, but not yours; theirs.

My strength speaks louder than the hollow cries.

Bracing for the sting, their vitriol and lies.

Liar, dramatic and disturbed,

If only my trauma were as simple as words.

Left standing, inner child, in her adult shoes,

Her pain is transmuting, an iridescent path,

Theres room for growth, and miles to travel,

A beautiful landscape, for her dreams to unravel.
