Complexptsdfoundation.org
I’m very excited to share a new venture that aligns closely with the work I do on my website. During my research for my blogs, I discovered an organisation called Complexptsdfoundation.org. I expressed interest on their blog page to write for them, and so far, two of my articles have been published on their website. What has been particularly exciting is that the social media team has contacted me and offered a role as a social media moderator.
Back in June, this conversation started, but, by the very nature of complex PTSD, I was in the middle of trying to manage some acute symptoms which lasted until very recently. I was unable to commit to a new venture and focused my time on self-care and self-compassion. Nevertheless, they contacted me again this week to check in, to see how I am. I was delighted to express my interest, confirming that I was in a better headspace.
Now, I write in other blogs about my interest in spirituality, and I talked to this staff member, who agreed with my observation that it seemed so well timed that she contacted me just at the right time. Furthermore, when I agreed to take the role, I had to submit three documents before I was “onboard” and the administrator reported that this was the “fastest onboarding” he had come across! By the next day, I was on Zoom, supporting an online forum for survivors of CPTSD.
This is just the start for me on this new journey. Who knows where it will take me? I am so excited to put more of my creative energy into raising awareness for people about complex ptsd. I can only dedicate one day a week to the new role, because I am already juggling two jobs, two households and children! But in time, there might be the opportunity to put all my metaphorical eggs into one basket. One day, I might be pioneering a new type of treatment for the condition or travelling the world, presenting talks.
I am starting to believe in myself again, after a period of absence. Absence from myself. Mourning of a previous life, existence, healing some deeply infested wounds and learning to understand myself again. I am seeing opportunities, and believing in fate, the universe and the ability to manifest. If you have unanswered questions about Complex-ptsd and haven’t found answers on my website, visit Complexptsdfoundation.org. It is a fantastic resource with lots of information.
